1. Booking Your Skip
All bookings are subject to availability.
When placing an order, you must provide accurate information including:
Delivery address
Contact details
Skip size required
Delivery location
Whether the skip is to be placed on private land or the public highway
We reserve the right to contact you if additional information is required before confirming your booking.
2. Payment
Payment must be made in full before delivery unless alternative arrangements have been agreed with us.
Prices shown include the standard hire period unless otherwise stated.
Any additional services or charges incurred after booking may be invoiced separately.
3. Delivery
Whilst we always aim to deliver on the requested date, delivery times cannot be guaranteed due to traffic, weather, breakdowns or other circumstances outside our control.
Someone should be available to advise the driver where the skip should be positioned where possible.
4. Access
It is your responsibility to ensure:
Safe and suitable access for our vehicles.
There is enough room to safely deliver and collect the skip.
Overhanging trees, cables or other obstructions have been considered.
The ground is suitable for the weight of our vehicles.
If our driver cannot safely deliver or collect the skip, additional charges may apply for a wasted journey.
5. Skip Placement
Where possible, skips should be placed on private land.
If you require the skip to be placed on a public road or highway, a council permit may be required.
Any permits, lights or cones required by the local authority will be arranged where applicable and may incur additional charges.
6. Filling Your Skip
Please ensure:
Waste is loaded evenly.
Waste does not extend above the top edge of the skip.
The skip is not overloaded.
Only permitted waste is placed inside.
For safety reasons, overloaded skips cannot be collected until the excess waste has been removed.
7. Prohibited Waste
The following items must not be placed in the skip unless agreed in advance:
Asbestos
Chemicals
Paints and solvents
Gas cylinders
Batteries
Tyres
Fridges and freezers
Electrical items
Medical or clinical waste
Hazardous materials
Explosives or flammable substances
Please contact us if you are unsure whether an item can be disposed of.
8. Collection
When you have finished using the skip, please arrange collection with our office.
To avoid unnecessary delays and costs, please ensure:
The skip is ready for collection.
Access remains clear.
Vehicles are not blocking the skip.
Gates are unlocked where applicable.
The skip has not been overloaded.
If our driver attends and is unable to collect the skip because:
Access is blocked
The skip is not ready
The collection date has not been changed with us in advance
We cannot gain access to the property
The skip has been overloaded
We reserve the right to apply a failed collection charge to cover the cost of the wasted journey, driver time and fuel.
9. Damage
Our vehicles are heavy and may need to enter private property to deliver or collect a skip.
Whilst every reasonable care is taken, Black Country Skip Hire cannot accept responsibility for damage to driveways, paving, paths, grassed areas, underground services or other surfaces where access has been requested by the customer.
Customers should advise us of any fragile surfaces before delivery.
10. Hire Period
The standard hire period applies unless otherwise agreed.
If you require the skip for longer, please contact us as soon as possible.
Extended hire periods may incur additional charges.
11. Cancellation
If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please contact us as early as possible.
Where work has already been scheduled or the skip has been dispatched, cancellation or wasted journey charges may apply.
12. Liability
Black Country Skip Hire will not be liable for delays or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, road closures, traffic incidents, breakdowns or other unforeseen events.
Nothing within these terms affects your statutory rights.
